Amanda Lucas is a secondary English educator based in Houston, TX. She has a B.A. in English (2001) and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction (2014) from Texas A&M University and was a presenter at the Texas Middle school association conference. Her passion is student-driven discussion which asks students to not only challenge their core beliefs but also those of their peers. When not grading essays and finding challenging and culturally-relevant texts for her students to read, she enjoys practicing yoga, traveling with her husband, and loving her two red dogs, Tessa and Toby, and her "damn cat," Ginger.
